Cape Town Arrival

So far Cape Town is beautiful. It is strange mix of things. The city itself is situated on the coast, imagine that. It is actually on a narrow strip of land between this big piece of sandstone the call table mountain and the Atlantic ocean. The university campus( referred to as versity) is about 90 to the east. So if cape town is on the NW slope, UCT is on the NE slope. From my limited two day experience of cape town, I have been very surprised by its modernity and global feel. Eating at a restaurant or walking downtown you wouldn’t know you are in South Africa, you may as well be anywhere in the modern or globalized world.
Class starts Monday and I already having readings and an assignment. Our house has a pool with a bbq and bar…a slight improvement to the Pomona dorms.

I thought penguins were supposed to be perky...sitting on nest?

The country looks good...nice trees, clean boulevards..good climate. We await your observations re people and academia!

Jason, I think you should name your blog "Hier in Kaapstad" meaning "Here in Cape Town" in Afrikaans. Hope all is going well.

I AM AWESOME. I AM SERIOUSLY GREAT. GO ME. AND GO YOU FOR ACTUALLY TAKING MY SUGGESTION.

The best thing is that a lot of Pomona kids will read that title and take it seriously.
